Color, Crystals, Colorants
Experiments with colorant, glass, and crystalline glaze. I create small square-shaped plates to function like small canvases, upon which I draw lines and texture upon the surface, and paint with glaze and colorants to create surfaces of pooled colorant and spots of pigmented crystals. Upon close inspection the glassy, pooled areas resemble aerial views of the earth and cities. The shine reflects that of ocean water depths. The cracks create jagged patterns through the spots of color. All created unpredictably upon the surface and pooling into the beautiful formations against the white glossy square. There are small abstract paintings in glass, colorant, and crystal.
