Kamaree Saldo
Kamaree Saldo - Exploring Artist
I come from a family of craftsmen and tradesmen, so from a very young age I learned to love working with my hands. I have this desire to create: I have a passion to make, work, build. I create pots to hold, use, cook with, and love. I make imaginative worlds and colorful assemblies to intrigue and inspire. I use old materials and recycle them into new entities. I sculpt joyful faces to make people laugh. I turn canvases into ceramic and make pottery my canvas.

I am a visual artist working primarily within the realms of ceramics, painting and sculpture, although I tend to dabble in a bit of everything. I work with materials ranging from clay, metal and paint to bottlecaps, glass beads and starburst wrappers. I am interested in color and form, process and materiality. The process of experimentation and the unpredictability and surprise of results fascinates me. Color captivates me, and I become obsessed with materials.
My work is an exploration -a voyage I embark upon- purely for the sake of curiosity and discovery. For me it is less about the final product and more about the journey there. In summary: I play. I approach my work with childlike wonder, treating each project like a new adventure. My goal is to share my passion and teach with my work. I want to inspire people to create for themselves. I want to encourage people to explore and experiment simply for the fun of it.

I hope you enjoy my work :)
