Color Assemblies
My color experiments... Projects in which I explore the versatility and malleability of color. Color is the most relative medium in art. It is something I have always been fascinated with, every since I was a baby, and something I will forever be drawn to. It is endless to explore the interaction of colors, their combinations and mixtures, as well as the origins of the pigments of the paint itself. and the language around color is fascinating in itself, the many ways to describe one color, the many words/names we use for a certain hue, and the idea of color blindness as well.
Among these images are color blocks, part of an ongoing project investigating the language of color, in which I ask a person to describe to me a color without using the "name" of the color, as well as any stereotypical descriptions of it. And then i read their description and mix that color, not having seen the color they are describing. The colors are then displayed above their descriptions and people can think about the colors they would have thought of upon reading, or whether or not I did match the original color, or instead through of a different one I would describe as such...
